Data and purposes
Tick processes your Google ID and email for authentication; your name, username and avatar for your profile; your photos, times, captions, connections, Circles, messages, comments and reactions to provide the social service. Device tokens and preferences are used for the notifications you request. Technical logs are used for diagnostics; reports and decisions are used for safety and moderation.
Legal bases and choices
Account creation and social features are based on providing the service you request. Safety, diagnostics and moderation are based on the legitimate interest of protecting members and the service. Notifications are optional: you can refuse the permission or turn off each category in settings. You also choose whether your profile can be found by username.
Who can see what
Your Ticks are not public: they are accessible to authorized friends and, depending on the context, to the members of your Circles. Messages stay within their conversations. Reported content and the information needed to review it may be viewed by moderation. Tick does not randomly review private photos.
Service providers and locations
Supabase hosts authentication, data and private photos; its main database and file origin are in Ireland. Some functions and caches may be processed in other regions. Google is involved for sign-in. If you turn on notifications, Expo and Apple's or Google's notification services deliver the alerts. GIFs sent in messages are loaded from their host, such as Giphy, which then receives your IP address. Reels are rendered on a private Linux VM hosted in France, in the Ardennes. Google, Expo, Apple and Giphy are based in the United States: these transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses. No advertising space is included in this version.
Retention periods
Your account, Ticks, messages and connections are kept until you delete them or delete your account; no automatic purge of inactive accounts is currently defined. Reels expire after 7 days, declined friend requests after 30 days, stored notifications and inactive push tokens after 90 days. Reports and their evidence are kept for up to 12 months; app error logs for up to 30 days. Some data needed for a legal obligation or a dispute may be kept longer if the law requires it.
Your rights
From Privacy and data, you can change your visibility, export your data, view your reports and delete your account. If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion from tick.lucarnould.fr. To request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or to object, write to developer@lucarnould.fr; you will get an answer within one month. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr). Notification settings and the phone permission can be changed at any time.
